Can one of you VW gurus please confirm what is the proper/legal flywheel size for a 1.7L ITC Scirocco II?

I want to be sure I am getting the proper part before I acquire one.

Ultimately, it's up to you to find official documentation - manual, parts fiche, whatever - that provides that information. "Bob on IT.com said..." will be weak sauce in the protest shed.

It looks like on the parts catalog all the Sciroccos 1981-1983 with a 1.7 have a 190mm clutch disc.

But that is not official VW information, it is a parts catalog. But, it falls in line with what I know about VW in general. .

I checked my vw parts connection(worldpac) and the only clutch listed is a 190mm. 80-83 1.7L. the flywheel has 6 bolt holes, the 210 has 9......

I would think ETKA from VW parts should be able to at least give you the part no. of the correct flywheel. Although I'm not sure if it will tell you the dia. But it will show how many bolts hold on the clutch. Find a good VW parts guy.

For the EN engine in a Rabbit:

Flywheel
067 105 271 F 200mm

There is no listing for a 190mm fywheel

Pressure Plate
067 141 025 NX 190mm

All right. Thanks guys. When measuring the flywheel, I assume we are measuring the contact surface, yes?

Anyone have a 200mm flywheel?

I just threw away 5 or 6 of them. We used the 190 flywheel with 6 oversized bolts to hold it. If you flip a 200 mm flywheel on it's back you will see the fly cut actually goes into the casting of the bolt holes. The 190mm flywheel the casting on the bolt holes is complete. Sorry, I did not think anyone used them. :wacko:
