Rick - The 86-87 Acura Integra ECU will grab you an additional 500 rpm and plugs right in.

The 86-87 teg ECU works but the car runs rich. With Honda Challenge I run a 91 Si dizzy and ECU but that isn't allowed in IT.

Zephyr, how much of a gain to you see by using that set-up?

Dave, to be perfectly honest I am not sure how much I gained from doing this. When you and I were at the NASA event at WGI last spring the previous day I had dynoed the car and put down 105hp. I have since made a few more changes to the car including changing the car and a new motor. The old car got hit and the old motor was blown up. The new motor feels nice and strong however it has not been on a dyno other then at the NASA National where it put down 102hp, we were taking baseline numbers for all classes, but there the ignition timing was way off as I discovered later on in the week so I'm guessing that this engine is stronger. This summer when I switched back to the stock ECU and dizzy for the two LRP SCCA events that I attended the car felt pretty much the same but since I suck at LRP I got my ass kicked.

To be perfectly honest if I did dyno pulls with the stock setup and then my current Honda Challenge setup I think you would see a noticable difference. Reason being you can adjust the timing and the fuel and utilize whatever tuning program you would like.

On my friends 85 CRX CSP auto-x car he made 104 with an Integra ECU and 107 with 88 ECU with Zdyne. But he made a lot more after peak. Which is what I have noticed with a lot of programable Honda's. The Integra ECU will work you just need the right parts.

It's a programable ECU option for most Honda's. You can find them here: Zdyne (http://www.zdyne.com/)

It looks like they've dropped their prices significanty since I last looked at their site. :happy204:
