WOT stutter

hey i'm trying to sort out my 86 scirocco 8v. stock engine, header, larger throttle body (FSP setup now), port matched exhaust ports to header, 2 1/4 in exhaust.

at WOT the thing begins to buck usually in 3rd gear on acceration. i changed fuel pumps (both used) and the most recent made it somewhat better. do i need a higher volume fuel pump?-- its really sluggish at low end also?

any thoughts?

I'd check your ignition and cam timing. Sounds like the belt might have slipped a tooth. I'd also change the fuel filter.

forgot to say that i did change the fuel filter, and a trusted guy did the timing for me, both ignition and cam
so i dunno
but thanks-- i'm still thinkin' on it!

you said you changed the throttle body, does it have a WOT switch?? Did you maybe accidently switch the wires?

update: just pulled the in tank transfer pump (apparently 85> sciroccos have one)-- its dead-- i learned at a test n tune that it would only stutter when cornering and braking, bad news for racing!
