Fred Schmucker

It is with a heavy heart that I report that Fred Schmucker, Long time SCCA and SEDIV member and former SEDIV Executive Steward passed away this Monday afternoon of a massive heart attack. Arrangements are not yet finalized, however I will post any information regarding memorial services etc here.

Love him or hate him, Fred was a fixture in SEDIV and SCCA who was dedicated to providing safe, fair, and competitive racing for us all, his commitment to excellence in all things SCCA was a hallmark we could all do well to emulate.

Krys was absolutely correct....love him or hate him, he always did what he thought was fair and correct for the SCCA. The very 1st protest I ever filed was against him, and he was the one to tell me to do it, and see what the courts said.

I don't see how anyone could ever hate Fred Schmucker. Disagree maybe but no one who is reasonable could hate a guy who was always straight, honest, fair and to the point. He spoke his mind but would also listen.

Fred Schmucker was a class act who gave us all a ton of his time and I know he loved us all and he loved the SCCA. Why else would he drive all over Georgia and Florida to give so much of his time.

I'm gonna miss having Fred chew me out when I do something stupid or the ocasional comment that I could take as a compliment. God is going to enjoy haveing Fred Schmucker in heaven with him. He was a class act at all times.

Thank you Fred, for everything you have done for all of us.
