My tach plus 2 EGTs come to a net cost of over $500.
My main desire for information is a tach, lap timer, and maybe some temp info. The MyChron 4 (http://www.aimsports.com/products/mychron4/index.html) used in karting seems to have everything I am after, and maybe a bit more with upgrades.
My question: Is there anyone out there who has tried this and what were the results?
Pros:
Same investment
Compact
Lap timer a bonus (not included in my figure above)
Upgradeable to include some data logging
Upgrageable to include laptop software
Split times possible with extra beacon
Can be bought on Ebay for around $300
Cons:
No 12v hookup - 9v battery only
May be "too small" when mounted on dash (designed for steering wheel mount in karting)
Too good to be true?
