i am in the midst of adding the 1" wide metal straps to the rear window. my car will be dual purpose ITB and GP. these straps are specifically permitted and recommended for IT. (2007 GCR p. 303)

if i just rivet them over the top of the window trim, they interfere with opening the hatch.

i plan to remove the piece as shown on item 8 at:

https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts...component=B++51 (https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts_list.php?hp_queried_components=0&hp_series_id=268&hp_series_model=CRX&hp_series_year=1986&hp_series_door_ext_grade=2DR+SI&hp_series_transmission=5MT&hp_series_slsareacd=KA&hp_system=H&hp_component=B++51)

its not real obvious but it goes across the top of item 8 to cover the holes, etc. on:

https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts...component=B++53 (https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/honda_parts_list.php?hp_queried_components=0&hp_series_id=268&hp_series_model=CRX&hp_series_year=1986&hp_series_door_ext_grade=2DR+SI&hp_series_transmission=5MT&hp_series_slsareacd=KA&hp_system=H&hp_component=B++53)

it basically just clips on to some plastic underneath it. if i cut away the sections where the 1/8" by 1" strips will lay, this will not work very well.

legal or not?

It's just my opinion but such a trivial omission in the interest of a safety modification seems very reasonable.

Good luck in Production!
