Has anyone had an opportunity to take VW up on their generous offer of contingency money? It looks like the process should be pretty painless. Just wondered if there was any first hand experience.

It's great to see some car, tire and other manufacturers providing some decent contigencies. They have been doing this in the amateur motorcycle racing world for quite some time. In fact, there are guys who make a living off of their "earnings" from amateur motorcycle racing.

Anyway, I might have to keep the VW and get it back together if it has the chance to help pay for its use. Of course, I'll have to learn to drive it faster first, but money has always been a good motivator.

I was one place behind (and nothing like catching) Richard Floyd's first place at the Rock regional, so came up short. I'm going to the VIR regional in May armed for bear, though.

EDIT - note that I still haven't got my stickers but was told that since they weren't ready, we could collect without them.
