Does anybody ever come across any of these or are they a myth? The trailerworld.com site shows some very high dollar examples, but I don't recall ever seeing one in person.

There was one for sale (used to tow a pair of spec miatas) for sale on one of the forums I read in the past few months. I'll try to dig up the ad.

EDIT: found it.

Here's the ad:

Andy B. and his company had one. Check with him on where they picked it up.

Shouldn't be too heavy. If the axle were right between the two cars, then the cars' weight would be balanced there, and the only weight on the tongue would be that of the trailer tongue ...

Looking at the picture the 2nd miata is on the wheels of the trailer which is good, but the first miata is right on the tongue and the wheels don't seem as though they are supporting the 1st car.

Just an observation!

We bought FOMs 2 car open trailer for last season, but are looking to step up to a 5 car accomodating trailer set up up for next season. Our 2 car open is for sale. Drop me an email at greg at bbracingusa.com if you are interested and I can shoot you over the details.

Know the pictured trailer intimately,I designed and had it built here in Nova Scotia about 8 years ago.
We used it for 2 IT-B VW's and it worked better than expected.Tongue weight is not all that bad,as long as it had the cars on as pictured (nose to nose). We towed with a 3/4 ton suburban, and the cars are about the same height as the truck, so windage was great, and as a result fuel mileage was decent too.Setback on the axles is just right for stability,1 inch per deck foot of trailer.Frame channel on passenger side is sealed, with an air chuck connection, making the trailer a mobile air tank too.
Regretted trading for an enclosed 48" Featherlite, but one truck would not bring two trailers home from Florida.

Dereck could you explain this. I think I know what you mean but want to be sure.

I know several people who have two place open trailers- one was custom mfg and not sure of the other. I have seen new ones offered by Trailerworld and Kauffmann (sp??) that look decent.

The Trailerworld 2 cars look really nice, but the price was way out of my league. Don't know about Kauffman.

Greg, I might be interested if the guy who wants my enclosed trailer ever comes up with the money. You are a very long way for me to come get a trailer.
