WOW. Very sad! I went to driver's school with Lucho and was at many RA weekends with him.

I had the chance to speak with him on a few occasions at various tracks. He was a decent family man off the track and great competitor on the track.

Wow...what a shame!

That plane is very new, and was one of the first to have an on board parachute sytem designed to bring the plane down safely.

Very sad.

I'm very sorry to hear this! Lucho and I had some fantastic wheel to wheel racing over the last two years. He was very exciting to race with and respectful when there was slight contact. Anytime I saw him in the paddock he had a huge grin on his face and was just happy to be at the track even if his car was broken. For those of you that may not know Lucho, he drove the Yellow Honda Prelude in ITS prepared by OPM and also had a T2 BMW 3series. May he Rest in Piece....

I too am sorry to hear of Lucho's passing. So sad to lose a family man and ardent competitor. Although I never could stay with him for long on the track I concur that he typically was smiling and friendly.

This just reinforces the fact that the most dangerous part of racing is GETTING to the track.
