i havent been on a large number of tracks but i have always found watkins glen to be one of the smoothest. is the main purpose of this paving to improve the curbing? how does a repave affect lap times?

As I understand it, it's to..

- get rid of the concrete patches
- eliminate the weepers
- smooth out the uphill straight from the toe
- revise the curbing all to FIA spec

From the toe of the boot on up the hill was definitely Bumpy!

This was the main complaint from the IRL.
