Apologies in advance if this is old news but my searching has come up empty on several forums.
To the point, I have my electric OMP mechanically disconnected and I run straight premix.
The OMP is still connected electrically to stay out of ECU limp mode.
This is a new setup for me on a fresh S5 factory reman.

I ran one weekend like this, the weekend before last. Ran all day saturday and half of sunday (HPDE for new setup shakedown) with no issues except for the OMP problem.
Seems the OMP stepper motor decided to overheat and go on strike.
After a complete cooldown the car will run fine for a few minutes until the OMP overheats again and sends the ECU spastic.

My question: is there any modification to the (disconnected) OMP necessary to stop it from cooking itself?
Or was my OMP just on it's way out and I was due for a replacement anyway? I'd hate to burn up the replacement as well due to a common error on my part.

This newbie would very much appreciate any tips or advice.
My first race is in two weeks
TIA
Crispy

cludwig gave me this link. i don't think he's tried it though, so you might need to find someone else to vouch for it.

Hook it back up. It's not legal to disconnect the OMP.
