USERA Race 6 at Portland to be Sanctioned by Oregon Region SCCA

DANVILLE, VA. (August 2, 2006) – The United States Endurance Racing Association (USERA) and Oregon Region SCCA announced today that Oregon Region will sanction Race 6 of the USERA Carbotech Endurance Championship. Race 6 of the Championship is being held in conjunction with the Oregon Region’s SCCA Regional weekend August 26-27, 2006 at Portland International Raceway. Oregon Region and USERA are working together to provide a mixture of sprint and endurance racing for both SCCA and USERA participants. By being part of the SCCA’s weekend, both groups are helping minimize team travel expenses and maximize driver track time.

In addition to the standard complement of sprint format races offered by Oregon Region, USERA will be hosting a three hour endurance race Sunday afternoon. The USERA endurance race is open to several SCCA classed race cars, including Spec Miata, Improved Touring, Showroom Stock and Spec Racer Fords. The new SCCA pro MX-5 cars are also classed for the USERA Championship.

With Oregon Region sanctioning the USERA Championship, drivers entering the Championship race will be eligible to earn credit on their SCCA competition licenses while racing in the endurance event. This announcement also reduces team costs by permitting teams to participate with USERA with their current SCCA crew licenses. Drivers will still have to be members of USERA to race in the Championship.

Race 6 of the USERA Carbotech Endurance Championship takes place August 27 at Portland International Raceway. The full series schedule can be found at: www.usenduro.com
