who's going?

i should be there in my SM running ITA. i've heard a lot of people from around the country are going to show up to try and get track time before the runoffs.....might be lots of cool cars and big rigs.

Definately, we have fixed most of those issues. It ran fine the last race. That car is a royal pain sometimes.

that is why we are building and American Sedan, we want reliability. :D

It can't be much worse than the Nissan.

i bet if you try hard enough it can be.

hopefully we'll have a good ITA field. i'm sure Mr. Bachenberg, Watney, and Eberman will be there. Jim Lorenzetti might be, i haven't talked to him in a while. Last i knew his car was still being repaired. Add in a few random runoffs caliber SM's running ITA for extra track time and we'll probably have 10+ ITA cars i would guess.

:D

I'll be there in IT7. New motor, new chassis set-up. Woo-Hoo!

Any other 7's going to be there?

tnord

word has it Eberman blew his motor at hallet, so i doubt he'll make it.

i registered last night and only saw myself, Bachenberg, and Jude on the list.

I still haven't decided yet. I was at Hallett last weekend and have been instructing at BMW driver's school this weekend. If I borrow the wife's car (tow vehicle) for a third weekend in a row, I might be looking at a divorce... and she would take the race car. :(

Hey Jim, Nadeem will be there in his IT7.

Forecast sez a cool, comfortable 99 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Then a near-freezing 95 on Sunday.

don't forget to add about 10 degrees to that for just being in the area of Forbes and HPT. all that black asphault and concrete really does heat up the area.

it's a good thing we're group 4, it's not like we'll be out at the HOTTEST time of the afternoon or anything.

Bud had that sucker wrapped up so tight, it was better than new! It looks kinda cool too. He was joking that the amount of tape he used cost more than the part is new! Apparently around $10/foot for "Boeing spec" what ever that means. :P

You guys are trying to forcast the weather this far out? By this weekend, the forcast will probably call for snow! Maybe I'm just too used to St. Louis weather. <_<

Topeka in July is just hot, I don't think that we have ever been to this race and seen the temperature lower than 90.

That's how I like it so I am okay.

Good news for you! They just increased Sunday's high temp to 99, too!

I'm thinkin' about hanging a window A/C unit out of the passenger side of the 7...

lets just hope it doesn't rain like a couple years ago so it's insanely humid at the same time.

I'm sure the IT7 guys will appreciate you adding the extra balast to slow you down! :D

Now if I could only convince the ITA guys to do the same! B)

Yeah, that's what I like about Kansas, really terrible weather! :D The racing will be great though.

if i put header wrap around the outside of my drivers suit, will that keep the heat out?

ok seriously....someone needs to throw a couple cold ones in the cool-suit cooler while we're standing around in impound after the race. :birra:

i'd do it, but i don't have a cool suit, so i'll have to leave that up to someone else. i can certainly supply the beer though!

Do you guys know how much elevation change there is at Heartland? I was on their website, but couldn't find it...

holy crap was it hot.

104 ambiant on sunday, no idea what the heat index was. heard rumors of track temps near 150.

thank you all for not destroying my rear bumper after it got knocked off. i think i can reuse it after i get some new mounts.

i may or may not be at MAM in 2 weeks.

fiat124girl

Travis,

I like the look of the car without the rear bumper, I think you should leave it like that.

It is more intimidating :D

tnord
07-17-2006, 12:57 PM
it's certainly not helping my aero, but i agree, it does send a certain message.

i at least need to fix the door so i don't have to crawl in and out of the damn thing anymore.
