For sale I have 6 new in the box from Hoosier 205/55/14 R3S04's. I bought these 1/31/06 straight from hoosier. They have never been used, still in the boxes they were shipped in and have been sitting in my dining room since. They have never seen the elements or sun light. I am looking to get what I paid for them which is $680.20 cash only please. The new R6's are going for $175 a piece that would be $1050 w/out shipping if bought from tire rack. That's saving almost $400 on 6 tires. The reason I am selling them is because I picked up a set of 14" pannasports w/ 225/50's on them and they actually fit the car without any rubbing issues so I will be running 225' from now on.

The reason I am posting NE section instead of the classifieds is that I am not willing to ship. Any interested buyers from the northeast can pick them up at the track. I will be at NHIS next weekend 5/26-5/28 and then will be at LRP 2 weeks later 6/17.

Moderators if the thread must be moved no problem. I just figured it would be logical to post them specifically to NE guys because I am not willing to ship. Or start a thread to check out my FS thread.
Thanks

Are these the R3S04 or the R3S05? I thought they haven't made the 04 for years.

If they are the R3S05 I will take them. Call me at 508-660-7974.

It is the R3S03's that haven't been made in years. These tires were manufactured the 14th week of 05

Confusing as it may be, S04s were the tire for most of 2005, and S05s were a flash in the pan very late last year (ARRC timeframe) and early this year. Now the "new" tire of choice is R6...

More grip but more drag?
But with that horse power you should do well

Scott, it's Joe that's selling the 205s and going to 225. I've been running 225s on my Nissan for a few years now. My only wheel/tire change this year is moving from 14x7 Panasports and 225/50-14 Hoosiers (the ones that Joe has now) to 15x7 Volk TE-37s and 225/45-15 Hoosiers. - GA

So Greg, interesting change. Is the overall diameter the same/different? Is there a weight advantage? Tell me about why you made the change.

(See, Joe: this is what you get when you post For Sale stuff in topic areas where replies are allowed...BUMP for my buddy!)

Jake, the driving factor for the move from 14" to 15" wheels was Goodyear's announcement that they were going to retool to make 225/45-15 tires (but not 14s). I've been a fan of the Goodyear tires since I was a supported SSA/B driver "in the old days." Coupled to the fact that 15s are now allowed in IT, I was keeping my eyes open for some 15s to come around to replace my 14" Panasports.

And come around they did. Early this year Anthony Serra advertised a block of several dozen 9-pound Volk TE-37 wheels for sale, along with used Hoosier 225/45-15 tires. "Mr Grand Am" and I cut a deal and I'm now the proud owner of eight of them, and quickly parading through those used tires. My six 14" Panasports with 225/50 Hoosier S04s went to Crazy Joe.

The diameter of the two tires is exactly the same with a slight increase in section width, according to Hoosier specs; the wheels/tire combo weigh ~4 pounds less each.

Unfortunately, Goodyear has yet to produce the 225/45-15 tire, and no one seems to know when (if?) they will. So, at this point I'll continue running on Anthony's used S04s (so far this year), six new S05s (bought on clearance), and - I guess - R6s when all those are used up... - GA

Interesting, Greg did you get his gold or white rims? I picked up 6 of his white TE37s for the ITA car, but only got to use them twice. :( Hopefully I will get to use them just one more time this year in November B) (if no one buys the car, lol)

Smokin deal Greg!! Sometimes I wish I was FWD guy!

The weight issue is a good thing too....it really depends on the tire and the wheel how that works out.

I always wanted to run Goodyears too, but my wheels are too dinky for them. And spinning a rotary up with 15" wheels and larger tires is ifffy.

Carpenter, you rat bastard! ;) I wanted the six white ones but you snagged 'em first, so I got the gold ones. they look pretty good on the red car, plus they just flat don't show brake dust at all...

Why would you EVER consider racing the DC2 at the ARRC when you've got the DC3? Hey, you're gonna need all the hardware you gots come November... :)

Jake, luck wins out, especially when you're not looking hard... - GA

LOL, yeah when I bought them I had no idea you were after them too. I'll sell them to you for 15k and you get an ITA Integra too! Amen on the brake dust, it shows up quick on the white wheels, but when they are clean they sure are blingin!

I think you meant the DA and DC2, the DC2 is going to be racing strictly nationals this year in FP (including the runoffs), but if the DA isn't sold by then I will take it out for the ARRC. Ill remember to pack the extra hardware. ;)
