All this talk about crazy fast 1.8 ITA Miata's and worthless ITS BMW's got me wondering. Whos' showing up for this next test? Remember, May 1st the SIR chokes the living daylights out of the 325's. The long runs of WOT should handicap the ITA Miata much like the last test provided it an advantage.

So who's gonna be there???

I will in the #00 ITS Rx-7 with Meno. I know Mike and Kip will be there in the Miata(s), A and S??? Wansley/Cohen. Caban/Cohen??, Seck??, Flynn??, Darling??, Ells??, Garcia?? Bussler/May??

How about you Steve E.?? Been a while since I've seen you. Bring that black beast down to our 2.5 mile dyno. Kent, bring that Jeff guy with you.

Its showtime.

And the Mazda goes hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :happy204:

I'll be out there crewing, for the Mercedes under the control of Mike Flynn.
Can't wait to "size up" the ITA crowd as my car will be ready in about a month or so (god willing). You can get an advance viewing of my hand so it will look familiar as I wave you by all next year.

if i was

if i was 4 sec. a lap slower at Roebling to the front running itc car, i should be at least 10 sec a lap slower at Daytona.Straight away speed kills me and my dieing rabbit!!

But i will be having a blast anyway.

Tim...few things in life are slower than my Honda. I was once accused of painting my car green...my response was "No, that's moss". I'll be there with bells on. This is one race that I have every reason in the world to miss, but just can't seem to. It's Daytona, it's Spring, it's too much fun. Gotta do it! Bet you a beer we have a good time. Besides, I promised you I'd be there.

For your viewing pleasure, the Junktech Racing #58 Honda CRX will be in attendance piloted by David and myself.

Looking forward to it with great anticipation. Haven't raced since Labor Day, need to shake the cobwebs off. Last enduro at Daytona in a CRX netted a podium finish. Hope to have a similar result this year. Big ??? is the extra hundred pounds layed on the Honda recently. Ironically I'm not getting any thinner so we may only have to add 50# !!!

If the current weather pattern continues, rain will definitely NOT be a concern. :023:

Yep, I'm there. But I'm leaving the 66 home for the weekend (the nitrous system still has some issues). Tentatively set to start the 57 car and I might finish out the day in the #20 TRG special.

Marc, make sure the tow hook on the back of the 00 is easily accessible, I might throw a rope out to try to keep with you. :)

It'll be interesting to see what the SIR did to the BMW's. I hope it's a good race all the way around.

Beer is a difficult thing with me and my crew. I drink Coors...heavy, crew drinks Bud, heavy and Sierra Nevada (or anything dark and expensive). Fortunately, the expensive beer drinker only drinks a maximum of two per day per event. That's why he's the designated driver.

If it rains, I'll be up in your motor home so fast that you'll think I came with the buyer's package!

Sorry Scott, The cook is involved in reconstucting his son's house...something I got roped into instead of working on the race car. Anyhow, no time to cook, even something thrown together. He peaks at the ARRC, and has to rest most of the year.
We'll be in the dirt/swamp. Looks like I may be making the trip by myself. I'll be looking for help for the enduro. Rebstock was coming to do the super tune, but got his weekends messed up. The tune will be done in advance and notes made.
Evan, the plan is simple...have fun. That's always the plan. Of course, it's more fun to win, so that's in the plan, too. If it runs like it has been, it should be interesting. Hope I can hang on! B)

Many thanks to all for a great weekend!

Certainly one of the more interesting weekends I've had at the track, but everything worked out really well.

Aside from some incompetence behind the wheel that caused me a spin and an unscheduled pit stop, I was able to wheel the CRX from 55th OA/19th PIC up to 23rd/8th. My own fastest lap didn't come until lap 28. I never would have guessed that. Lots of praise for the crew guys, Dave, Ken, Ray, Chip, Dustin, Jason and Pete. They nailed the pit stop and put up with my complaining on the radio!

I was glad to see the high level of courtesy and give-and-take out on the track. Even though I had good battles throughout the field all day, the car doesn't have one scratch more than it did when it got there. That's the way I like to go racing, and I have to thank everyone on the track yesterday for a thoroughly enjoyable race.

That was the first enduro I have done from start to finish, and it was easier than I thought it would be. Can't wait for the next one!

Hi Chris,

I was in the Silver ex-Gonzalez CRX for the first half of the race. I had gotten up to 4th in class but spun it going into the bus stop (I'm still very CRX inexperienced... note to self, don't trail brake a CRX there) and got going again in the middle of your charge from the back. We had a little fun for a few laps, then I looked in my mirror and it looked like you might have done the same thing I did in the bus stop. You were back there, then you weren't.
Sorry I was holding you up in the infield. We had Toyos on the car and they were giving us an AWFUL push in the hairpins, but the car was very good on the banking.

I didn't realize that Junkins wasn't in his car.

We would have done fairly well, maybe even top 5, but we had to change a half shaft and lost about 20 minutes. I think we ended up 15th in class.

Note to self: Listen to what Scott said! I did catch myself out while trail braking, when the car touched the curbing on entry, and shot me into a 360 - no contact though.

Sorry I was holding you up in the infield. We had Toyos on the car and they were giving us an AWFUL push in the hairpins, but the car was very good on the banking.[/b]

Yeah I know. Been there, got the video! That car didn't have a final drive in it when you got it, I think you need to change it back! It was obviously killing you (me) on the banking!

I think I convinced Junktech that his motor is a little tired. She's been a good horse, though.

I didn't realize that Junkins wasn't in his car.[/b]

David was going to race, but another opportunity came up and he decided to take it. More track time for me!

Only one of them, Tim. Sorry I never got over for beer, but the rain really screwed my pooch. I was in tech and was going to drop by to see what was up when it hit. Windows down on the truck and the race car. I spent the rest of the afternoon draining and mopping. Forgot to eat and just made it to the grid.

Missed the jetting on the carb and didn't have anymore with me...stupid stunt. Had a new carb, head, and headers to go fast, but the head decided to give me troubles. Couple of valves backed off and the thing wouldn't run over 6500 in fourth and cut out at every turn. Really frustrating.

Passed the orange one for second, but couldn't get the white one. I was running 3 seconds a lap slower than last August when the left CV joint died. It was a mercy killing. I don't know if I could've made it on the coffee and doughnut I'd had that morning.

I counted 5 axle problems with front wheel drive cars in IT on Saturday and Sunday.

Sorry you had problems. Hope to see you at Atlanta in July for the Pro, SARRC, and the ECR. I'll have the car fixed (I hope) and eat better. If not, I'll be back for the double SARRC in August.

Could you arrange for the traffic to be better next time? Took me 14 hrs to get there, and 18 to get back to Baton Rouge! Sleepy time tonight. I'll work on the car tomorrow.

Like everyone else, I fought motor problems all weekend. Driving a car with no vtec is no fun, especially at Daytona. I needed another race to renew my license so against better judgement, I stayed out there. When I get a chance, I'll do a weekend summary but in short, I had no power so I played with some Neons and ITS Porches (rear of the pack). Towards the very end of the race, I endup hitting the inside guard rail in turn one. There must have been some dirt cause the car simply snap into it. ...hey Chris, I'm going to require some your services :) After the wreck, the car still ran straight, brakes where fine so I did another 2 laps until the engine starting miss-firing. I finally called it quits after a hour and 15 minutes. The things I can take away driving this new Civic is that the brakes where there the entire race. Also, the handling is good, other than the "snap into the guard rail", the car is not that twitchy.

All in all, it was a good weekend. Racing is fun but when I get to spend it with my racing buds Nick Tenn, Chris Wire, Dave Junkins, Scott Seck, Dave Raymond and his crew, and last but certianly not least my brother Ray, IT'S ALL GOOD! I'm sure I miss a few of you so sorry if I didn't mention you.

...and one last thing, I'm very happy to see our ITA groups grow with a bunch of new faces and cars!

Well, the good Lord's a-willin' and the cost of gas don't rise (like that's not goin' to happen!), I'll be at the Double SARRC in August at Daytona. Got to work on my go fast and get some better boogie to keep up with Rebstock...or at least close. I can't say how much work he's done on my car or he'll have to kill me. It's hard to say which one of us owes the other more, but it's good to have him on my side.
I'm certain of this, I'll be thinner so that I can get down to minimum weight and not be so worn out two laps into the race.
Getting fat is only fun during the trip there; after you get there, you're just fat and having a hard time breathing. :D

Next time, we'll have that beer...if it's on my diet. <_<

Thanks to the guys from Irish Mikes for the help in the crew work. I was going to be a busy puppy doing it alone.[/b]

Would like to accept the thanks, but really that should be directed toward Liera/Ronie Motorsports. Was gonna get the stopwatch on pit time for you, but you already had it. What a true show of friendly competition with Ronie and Liera helping pit a car that they were in direct competition with!! Truely a good race in both classes.

Didn't know that was you in the pit, sorry I didn't properly introduce myself as I was kind of busy making sure we had enough lead going into our pitting.

No problem...thanks for the correction. I've known Evan for a couple of years, but, living and racing out of Baton Rouge, I don't get to meet everyone he races with. It's getting there, but slowly.

One of the finest things about our sport is how we will drink beer together, loan our last spare part, share meals, and fight for every inch of track, only to get out after the race and shake hands with a smile.

'preciate whoever it was that helped us!
