Someone at http://roadrace-autox.com pointed out that non-IT.com members can't see the classifieds. Seems like, to maximize exposure there, it would be a good idea if anyone could see what was posted. I can see restricting posting rights. Just a thought.

I agree, open it up. It will only draw more traffic to the site.

Not allowing non-members to at least view the content is non-productive. If I were an advertiser I would question the policy which if you follow me could make it hard to generate ad revenue as well.

I remember a forum you could only view the subject line and not the content unless you joined. Never went back again and I'm sure I'm not the only one who did that.

Just a thought, but the motive here may be to keep the Nigerian wire transfer scammers at bay. Those guys can find anything listed for sale, but one would think that the word is out by now.

I vote to open it up.

Open up for view, but ONLY let members post. If someone want to PM the seller they need to become a member.

Weird... the other classifieds were all set to allow guests to read. Not sure when or how that got changed but its fixed now.

Here's another question: Why can't I edit my classified post? I need a way to say the item is sold without having to create a new listing.

Editing was changed with the above change.
