[attachmentid=389]My name is Dan LaShomb and will hopefully be attending the NHIS driver school. My car is an ITS #4 Ford Probe GT and once it gets a pulley tensioner, CV joint & Rack & pinion it'l be ready to go. For the school i will be running (hopefully not craching) Buddys #58 ITA escort. I will be running a few times a year in the NER.

Dan,
Welcome to NER. Not a bad idea using an already working car for school instead of trying to thrash and get your car ready. Good luck!

Cool car. We officially welcome you to ITS Team Oddball (I am one of the charter members).

Thanks for the support everybody, I'v been a race fan for as long as I can remember and racing is something I'v always wanted to try but u know how it is...you just cant afford it. Well, unless I hit the lotto I'm never going to be able to afford it so I just gritted my teeth and beared it because one of my biggest fears is to have a laundry list of "I wish I would have..." things when I'm older. Probe VS RX-7 and BMW isnt much of a match but to get out on Watkins glen, Mid ohio, Road america, atlanta, VIR and so many other tracks I have grown up watching is well worth a mid-pack finish. To race is a privelage...to win is an honor.

BRAVO!!!! Great attitude! :happy204: Im sure the bug will bite you real hard and make you say "hmmm a little more power and grip and maybe..." Welcome to the madness!!! Just try to refrain from procreating for a few years and you will enjoy it more!

But.... slight damage wouldn't be bad for me!

Btw, coming to Mid-Ohio? I hope so.

The car is looking awesome!

Welcome to IT! I myself will be running IT for the rest of the season. I hope you will post some pics of your racing events on ProbeTalk so we can cheer you on. Also on ProbeTalk I've created a ProbeTalk Racing team. Once your done with the school or before you can join up and post events and such on CarCrazy.com. CarCrazy web site has a clubs section, there you'll find under racing - ProbeTalk Racing. But wait theres more. If you looked in the Racing section of the website. There is a sticky post that is dedicated to a discount with Porterfield racing brakes. Just follow the information in the 1st post and you'll get a killer deal on brake pads for your car.

Godspeed!

:happy204: Racefreak24:

Welcome to our group. Got to agree 110% with your philosophy, as that is what got me to where I am today. I started working as an official with SCCA in 1966. But 4 kids but a hold on any on-track activity. In 1984, I was toying with the idea of an IT car, but new home, etc got in that way. I learned a lot about racing working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and IRL for 10 years, but soon realized how long I would have to save up for the Prevost and the 18-wheel hauler! A new job and a bout with cancer in 1999 made my mind up real quick how fast those 'wish I coulds' can become 'wish I had's'. So when the opportunity came up to buy a pretty cool car with a Shelby name, I jumped.

My racing ambitions also center around just being able to drive some of the old tracks where I started my racing career, but I my case more of them are long gone than are still operating.

If you get a chance to get up to Mid-Ohio, give us a shout. We'll make your weekend as pleasant and fun as possible.

Keep us posted on your progress.
