Do you think that this is a good setup to replace the airbox in an Audi 5cyl? (Just the intake part, not the top).

Way too many other factors that we can't see, such as what you're currently running.

I like having something around the element so that you can pull air from the away from the engine side, That's open on all sides, Maybe if you add a heat shield to one or two sides.

dam not at the shop so I guess I can't get any pictures.... I will try to get something tomorrow night when I go up to the shop...

theres actually a metal bit off early volvo 240's iirc that will bolt onto the bottom of the fuel distro/airflow plate iirc.. its got a 3" opening on it so you can run a filter or ducting to get better ariflow..
