Update - found a new, higher-res DVR for only slightly more, and regularly available (these Audiovox/Mustek PVRs are getting hard to find). Though they don't have a video display, they do have the advantage that they do one-touch recording - the Audiovox/Mustek require you to navigate through menus first. They also sell a cheaper lower-res one for $99.
