So my birthday is coming up on the 28th, Ill be 29 years old btw, and I am reminded of why it is that I am supposed to be a racer... You know who else has a birthday on Feb 28? Mario Andretti. hehe. Yup. Its fate, destiny, kismet... whatever you want to call it. Just out of curiosity I checked the web to see who else has the 28th for a birthday. Not a bad list, if I do say so myself...

Jackie Gleason - Yet another reason as to why Im such a funny person.
Bernadette Peters - Um, Im also sexy and sing beautifully?
Gilbert Gottfried - Again, Im hilarious, even if Im a bit funny looking.
Linus Pauling - Aha, this explains why I love physics so much and am pretty much a genious.
Earl Scheib - I dont know. I enable the white trash of the world to get their Camaros repainted?

What about you folks. Anyone cool share your birthday?

My father told me once that I was the product of a really good Fourth of July party in 196 :018: .

Knowing my father (he was a Navy fighter jockey) it probably involved a lot of what he called "I & I" (intercourse and intoxication).

One of the cool things about growing up is that you get to figure out what interesting people your parents were before they had kids.

Yeah, there are a few things I didn't care to know about my parents prior to children.

The funny part it was no big surprise to my parents when I said I was going to club racing. mom figure it would be motorcycle racing but knew that path dissapeared when I dropped on the highway getting away with minor road rash and writing off the riding gear I was wearing.

So now im just waiting for the day the entire family decides to invade SP to watch me run.

I got curious on this one and had to check. I was getting pretty disappointed with Maria Callas, Daryl Hanna, and Katarina Witt. Then I found Brendan Frasier, Andy Williams, and Charles VI, King of France. Still no racers on December 3. At last...Rick Mears and Bobby Allison! Now I can rest assured that I'm in good company of people who went round and round for a living. The crowning mark was Ozzy Osbourne! :035:

Hmmm, she already wants to race... Wonder what her car number will be...

Oh, and my b-day is 12/26, which means if I go to Canada, I get punched or something like that... Yes, I know, why go all the way to Canada when there's so many people right here who will do it...

Well, Im hell-bent on hitting the track before Im 30, which gives me a little less than a year. My Corolla is gonna be ghetto-fabulous, but at least it will be on the track! Hehe. Hey, maybe thats what I should call my racing team: "Ghetto-Fabulous Motorsports." I think for the paint, Ill just finish stripping the car down and park the empty shell on the street in Compton for a couple of days. It should have a nice coat of graffiti in no time....

And Im not slow in responding, I just have a lot to do... like drive myself insane trying to find a specific part. Actually, now that I think about it, in a year's time, the car may be fit to race, but my brain may not be....

JamesB

yeah, I know I will need to retorque the nut behind the wheel after first session at my school end of the month. My goal to was to be racing before 30, I ended up having a car at 30 and my first season at 31. No complaints here other then every time I check over a section of the car I find something to replace or repair.
