Guys,

I'm coming off a two-year break in ITS racing.

Can anyone give me a short list of any rule changes that affect IT racing since 2004?

For example, I know that this is the last year for SA95 helmets. And IT allows an ECU change now.

Any other news?

Safe to say that you're probably going to need new belts.

Double side bars (each side) effective 01/01/07--but you can do it now (and gut both doors if the bars go into the door opening).

Remote resevoir shocks were banned--not sur of effective date.

Great info. Thanks!

Looks like I won't be running into any surprises at tech inspection.

I guess it depends on how you read the statement about the publicaiton date. It says no later than the 20th of each month. In the past they have been 2 months ahead (February came out 12/20) so I had been assuming that March would be out by tomorrow. I guess I need to write in for a rules clarification. :D

I guess you could be right, that would give them enough time to print and ship for those that chose to pay for that service.

That reminds me, I wonder if I get an '06 GCR with my renewal, I only have a permit not a license. I guess I should call Topeka and ask.

Whew!! I though I was going to have to drag out the :bash_1_:

James, just got my GCR yesterday so it may be in the mail....

Yeah, I spoke to national moments ago. Novice permits are treated the same as license holders, but there was a printing delay for the 06 GCR and they expect them to be shipping soon, but they have been fielding lots of calls.

Easy! You think the Saturn is getting a correction? :P

Seriously, I hope things hit the March FT.

Andy - Any perticular reason why? If the GSR doesn't get a weight reduction is the BMW going to get more weight?

Jeremy - who really wants less weight so I don't need to add all the ballast this winter.

you actually going to run that thing this year Jeremy? I gotta get my site up and going again and get that sponsorship to pay off! ;)

Can't wait to see a honda product in ITS. You better make it to an NHIS event!

steve
pm me if you wanna do some more tuning. I'd be happy to see if we can get some more power out of it. I'm pretty sure I could. And you're gonna need it too!

P.S. you still have my sparkplugs in that thing!

I am sure going to try to get the car out there. My wife is finishing her masters and needs to student teach for 6 months, which means no second income.

I totally forgot about the sparkplugs and you are right I owe you a set. I will pick up a set and send them to you. As we get closer to the racing season we can see what we can do for more power!

If Andy doesn't help us out, I am going to need a turbo that no one will know about :D

Just kidding about the plugs. But yearh, keep in touch. There's more power there. Though, you need an adjustable FPR and fuel pressure gauge.

Well, it ain't me ya know...

Bottom line, the GSR fit's the process almost perfectly. The mistake everyone makes is comparing to the Bimmer (yes, Bimmers are cars, Beemers are motorcycles). The E36 is an anomoly and can not be used to compare until (if) we get it through the process.

We aren't trying to balance the world on the tip of a pin, we just want everyone to be measured by the same stick.

You know what, thats is really what matters to most people here. If everything is measured b the same stick I think cars could be classed more competitivly too.

And, I got my 06 GCR today!!!! time to drop last years in the recycling bin.

Don' do that! Drop it in the mail to me, I'll send you a check to cover postage.

Bill if you want it just pm or e-mail me your address, don't worry about postage its only a dollar and change. I do my best not to packrat, I have too much crap in the house in the form of spares for the 2001 and the 87 that an outdated rules book has no room.

Please no1 take offence, but ...

If the GSR fits the process perfectly then the process is broken! I fail to see how a front wheel drive, 1.8L, 126 lb/ft, car with the brakes from a Civic can be 2700# in a class full of bigger displacement RWD cars. :bash_1_:

Then tell me in detail, by the numbers, what your process would be.

The GSR has not been developed to the limit of the rules yet.
