I am located in NC so the car has to be located on the East coast.

I have contacted Jeff and we have begun talking. This looks to be a very promising car. Anyone care to comment on the this car's condition. I'm just trying to get a second opinon about the car.

Thanks,

I don't know the car but can vouch for Jeff. He's one of the nicest, straightest-shooting people I've ever met at a race track.

Jim,

If I were crazy enough to want a VW GTi racecar (hey, I'm Honda guy!), I'd strongly consider Jeff's car. Then when you take a look at the price, you really can't go wrong. (To preface this, I run in ITB with Jeff here in the N.E.) When Jeff announced that he was selling it this year, my first reaction was "are you CRAZY Jeff?" Right now the car as-is it may be a bit heavy to be a front runner although it still does well; if you have been following these threads that may change. If it does, I won't be surprised if Jeff second guesses his decision about selling it.

Let's put it this way, I highly recommended the car to a friend of mine (Jon or tcpip) but he's determined to build a car from scratch and lose a bunch of money. :P

The other nice thing as others have mentioned is that you would be buying the car from someone who is honest and overall not such a mean guy. (Just teasing you Jeff.) One difficulty in buying someone else's car is knowing if it is legal or not. Another nice thing you wouldn't have to worry about with Jeff's car.
