Again, re-tubbing the Spec7. The motor in the 85 is bad so I will need to make the swap from my 83. Rules changes in our division for 2006 allow changing the timing by +/- 10 degrees. New rules also allow for removal of all emissions controls. But do I want to do that? I have been told that the emissions controls will advance the timing automatically under some conditions. Before I pull all of the emissions out of the 85, I would like to know what I might gain.

Other changes for 2006 are the addition of the RB street header while keeping the stock 2-1/8" exhaust ;) . Re-jetting the carburater was discussed but not approved.

Under this set of rules, how do I achieve the best gains?

Again, thanks for the help.
