I'm trying to find out how much tubing would be needed for a basic 8 points ITS cage ? 140ft good enough ?

Thanks~!

You are probably about 80 feet short....at least when I built my first cage I used about 210 feet. Tubing is not the problem, bending the tubing is the problem if you don't have the correct bender...a one shot EMT bender will not bend DOM. good luck, Chuck

We used app. 4.5 sticks on our its e30 cage, that was with a nascar style door bar with 3 vertical bars and 2 horizontal runners, Then we used some inch i believe for tubular gussets... might have been 1.25" dont recall. 210 ft is scary... Im not sure how you could possibly use that much on an IT legal cage... I guess you must have had a lot of drop, or a lot of f'ed up bends...

On my street car i think we used 1.5 sticks for a 4pt roll bar... Getting the main hoop to fit right and tight is usually the hardest part.

And with all that we still came in about 100lbs under weight dry

Door bars, low Petty bar, Allison bars, downtubes with an "X" and connected at the bottom, 8 point. Start adding the lengths of each bar and it adds up quickly. CB
