I am racing at Lime Rock this weenend and at WGI next month. I just bought a brand new set of Toyo Proxes for my RX-7 ('84) and don't know what people set their tire pressures at for these tires. Any recommendations?

I find somewhere around 35# hot is about right. YPMV (your pressure may vary)

I usually run 38 lb hot with the RA-1's on the Spec7. Again, you may want something else. If the track is predominantly right turns, I start my pressures @ 31(LF), 32(LR), 33(RR), and 34(RF). The hot pressures are generally within 1 lb of each other and I adjust from there.

38 Hot seems to work on just about everything I've raced on Toyos. I start at about 30 cold, in toasty Southern California.

Me too... Ra/1's at 38 hot; once you get to 40 they start sliding a lot, over 40 and your are ice skating or rallying....

Wow! I was told to run 22-24 psi cold on my recently aquired IT7. The tires on the car and the spares look good across the tread but tire temps would be a better guage. I wonder why the difference?

I've run my car that low, its not very nice, as compared to my normal 29/30 cold.

Well, I took your advice and ran them at 30 psi cold and it stuck like glue! It handled so well that I didn't even experiment with other pressures. Thanks for the help!

Now if only my panhard connection on the drivers side hadn't broken off the rear end at the apex of the right hander at the bottom of the hill at Lime Rock! A bit of a scary moment!

Gald to hear they worked out for you! What had you been running previously?
