Off topic---

What IT motors cost the most per horsepower to purchase from a top quality motor builder? The least ?

Just curious...I happened to acquire a 125 shifter kart roller over the weekend to practice/train with on the off weekend here and there. In my search I stumbled upon a trick motor package used on some of the 250 shifters. When I saw the cost I about crapped myself. I knew some of this stuff gets a little silly...but c'mon. :119:

With the varried racing pasts of our forum posters, what other forms of non professional racing have over-the-counter motors that cost $72,000 CANADIAN DOLLARS per liter? Or $200/HP ? RC cars? Go-ped racing ? Jr. Dragsters ?

Top Fuel motors are probably the cheapest per HP..but not per HP-Hour!

Pretty cool, 360HP/liter on gasoline naturally aspirated....

Probably newer BMW--Even the consumables (gaskets and the like) are ridiculously priced.

I thought that the BMW would be up there in $$$ but also knew they make 230+Hp at the wheels with the restrictor. :D just kidding.

I figured the BMW, 944 and 190E 2.3-16 and an Alfa Motor were probably high on the dollar per HP list. Thought maybe a sunbelt Miata motor might be up there too. The Rotary stuff has got to be some of the cheapest per HP to build.

I don't think you'll find any SCCA classed motors that cost $200 per HP. That's a good thing.

Best 944 engine will run $15K and get you an end result of about 182 HP........

Nearly $10K will get you 108 RWHP on an ITA MR2
