Looking for Relay Shaft

I'm trying to find a relay shaft (part of the shift linkage) for my 84 GTi. Spent two hours on the 'net and couldn't find one. The dealer wants $70!!!

Jeff, as I'm sure Bill will tell you, any 5-speed Rabbit or Scirocco 1/2 will have that same relay shaft.

I'm surprised the dealer can still get them!
