I LOVE this ! How cool...directions, the line, where the power outlets are...and....how about a section for local auto parts stores??

If we all put in our local knowledge, the afternoon thrash of just trying to find the closest store to buy a replacement widget would be SO simplified.

We could have a section for the better local hotels and lodging, the different places to eat, and so on...what a great resource!

Until a track database is created I think I'll try to link to the relevent info elsewhere. Let me know if you have links to info for tracks or more info for the tracks that I add.

Also, please suggest tracks as I won't be adding every track in the world myself.

na-motorsports.com has quite a list. I really haven't gone there much in a while, it may not be being updated anymore. I've used it for track maps of tracks I haven't been to, track maps don't need to be too up to date in most cases.

Try this site (if you haven't seen it already)

Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/)

Most race tracks in America seem to be locatable using this.

How about adding coordinates (long. & lat.) so we can plug the numbers into Street Atlas on our laptops, attach the GPS and go!

Actually, we used that type of setup when I was working for the IRL and travelling to a new city. Worked great for finding the closest electronic parts, computer, battery stores.

I use Street Atlas and have the Coordinates from Summit Point, LRP, Pocono, Texas world Speedway and Motor Sport Ranch if you would like them.
