Well after a year of procrastination and 6 months of research and fiddling around...the IT.com Forums have finally been upgraded. The new software will take us well into the future with no fears of it becoming obsolete or impossible to change. :023:

Quick takes:
edit:: Latest SW version now installed.

We will be changing the look from the standard blue BB style to one which looks more like the IT.com you are all used to.

We will be adding more features once we confident the main forums are working without problems for everybody. Features like:
- Image Gallery where you can upload your own IT photos AND VIDEOS !
- IT Garage. Create you own page where you can show off your car and track changes to it and record the results.
- Blogs. Yah, everybody's doing it so why not IT.com. Want to write about you racing experience? We'll make it possible here!
- File Manager. Share files with other racers. Data Aquisition files, Images, Docs, etc.

So what else do you need to know?
- Calendar. The Calendar will have infomation about IT races all over the country. You may enter events for your region! Just send a note to the Webmaster to ask for permission to update the calendar.
- Members. Next to Calendar at the top is the Members link. You can search for members here and view the list of 2500+ member we have!

Can we please keep attachments, signatures, and images embedded in posts small for us poor people who still have no choice but to use dial-up? (out in the sticks) One of the reasons I like coming here is that even on 56k, I could get all the info I wanted in a hurry, without reading a bunch of one-line posts with a 37-line sig and a 175k .img embedded.

Attachments are fine, gives everyone the chance to download if they want or to ignore.

Just trying not to lose what was good about the old site now that we've moved into the 21st century with everything else.

Marcello:

I'd even go so far as to propose CC.com style rules for all of that. And, with embedded pictures, a nice DUW (dial up warning) in the subject would go a long way!

I don't think it will end up like the Honda forums here in terms of signature and all, but...

Marcelo, I have your solution! :023: The new boards are Dial-Up frendly!
Click on your name next to your posts (or on "My Controls" at the top)
Then, Go to "Board Settings" on the left menu.

Then select the display options you wish to turn off!
You can configure this forum so that it displays nothing but text if you so choose...that should make even your dial-up experience quite snappy!

This is a good question. I should make it part of an FAQ.

for some reason the "view new posts" link stopped working today...

here is the link:
http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/...rch&CODE=getnew (http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=getnew)

here is the error i get after following the link:
http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/...opics&lastdate= (http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&nav=lv&CODE=show&searchid=150b97ccf8835c7749706b9a6d65dc57&search_in=topics&result_type=topics&lastdate=)

edit: looks like it might be flood control flaking out, i bookmarked the new topics page but get that error the first time i visit it. if i click "vew new posts" a while later it works...
