Guess I'll decide today since it's the registration deadline. Sold all my Pit stop ECR stuff a couple of years ago when I was taking a break, so guess I'll have to beg and borrow.

I am, but then you know that. I'm definitely looking for a better finish than last year. Maybe I'll get more than four laps of practice. The competition is fantastic, and the track is awesome!

Guess there really isn't much, I was referring to the extra firesuit and helmet I had for my "crew" guy and the big extinguisher, funnel and cans.

I've got some of that stuff if your "crew" guy isn't too tall (over 5'10"). I'll be racing Saturday in ITC and helping crew for Evan on Sunday. Got funnels, fire extinguishers, gas cans, brooms, absorbant, etc. (this ain't my first enduro).

I'm a newbie to SCCA. If I'm using approx. 5 or 6 gals of gas in a typical week-end at Sebring & Moroso, How much gas SHOULD I expect to use during the ECR at Daytona. I'm just trying to figure-out if I can make it on 1 pit-stop or if I'll need to plan on 2 stops (8gal cell). I know that ALOT of factors will effect my MPG, but I need some kind of plan. ANY help would be nice. Don't worry, the only way that I'll be in the top 4 is for only 4 of us to show up http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif

The daytona ECR is only 1 1/2 hours...you should be able to do the first 45 to 60 min on 8 gal...unless you get REAL bad mileage...with a mandatory 5 min pitstop, you should be fine (1 hour 40 min track time) and that doesnt factor in the usual double yellow flag laps!!

Thanks.... We weren't sure how much more gas we would be using on the 'high-banks'. http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif

Few things in life rival the feeling of coming out of the "kink" and charging up the concrete wave that is Nascar #3, shifting up to fifth and waiting for the jolt and skip in Nascar #4 when you hit the tunnel groove and the main straight comes into view.....then it dawns on you...I'm racing at DAYTONA!!

For me, it was coming out of the infield on to Nascar turn one, for the first time.......I remember thinking, how the hell do those guys go in there two wide at 200???, it's wide, but not that wide!

my favorite is the first time to be in an IT train...looking thru the guy in front of you bump drafting....the best of times battling for the lead in a good ITB field in the mid to late 90's

In my brief time at Daytona, the awesome size of the track as I came off the grid first got my attention. Second was when I realized I was entering NASCAR 1, heading for the banking under a full course yellow, and was only doing about 60...sliding off speed! This year, I plan to further my memeories.

Unfortunally both GB Racing cars (#24 ITA CRX, #23 SM) will not be there. I so wish I was there but my wife schedule us and my brother's family to go on a Disney Cruise this weekend.

While Daytona is not too technical, it's one of my favorites. If you want to turn some good lap times, exit speed is very critical.

You guys have fun and I'll see you guys in August with either the ITA CRX if it hasn't sold or the new racecar. Good luck to everyone and be safe!

I will be there in my ITA SE-R. My cousin is coming down from Milwaukee to run half the race with me. The last time he ran Daytona was in a kart, he said that they got better lap times running on the apron instead of the banking.

Anyways, it should be fun! See you all there.
