How about a link to rules/regs for the events? I am interested in refueling/fuel tank rules, as I plan for construction of a new car...

Thanks!

Kirk

Okay - I'll bite. What's a "D.O.T. style dump style can?"

Look at the endurance forum and on the 2nd reply to my asking is a link to different styles.

I've seen a variety of sources for NASCAR-style dump cans but was curious about the language that they used in the rule. I haven't ever seen any DOT reference associated with them but maybe I just wasn't paying attention...

Does anyone know if this event is definite?

August 31 (Sun) at Mosport (WNY Region) - 1 hour enduro

There is no reason why it wouldn't be, as WNY has run that enduro with the Nat'l at Mosport for many years. Huge amount of track time. Coolest track in North America (yes, I've raced at VIR, but Mosport is better). Wild assortment of cars there that weekend, as it's usually shared with the "Canadian Cup" club racing weekend...everything from Porsche GT1's (really...several...) to turbo VW bugs to ex-GTP cars.

Stoopid fun weekend. There is also a rumor that Canada produces some beer...so if you want some advice, don't paddock near worker camping, as they party loud and late. Do not sweat the border crossing...it's a piece of cake. They only do full cavity searches on Honda guys.

I'll bite also. Is a "D.O.T" style the normal plastic type that you get at the auto part/wally mart?

We don't need to have a quick fill type thing on the side of the car? Do we???

I'm really tired of welding.....

NESCCA Enduro Series Committee is currently scratching heads and trying to figure out where "DOT-style dump cans" came from. While overhead and pressurized fuel rigs were not allowed, other methods like fuel jugs and NASCAR dump cans were to be allowed.

Tom - NASCAR cans don't need to have a dry break...most of the SCCA enduro community (there actually IS such a thing, really) uses fuel jugs & funnels, or NASCAR cans with a hose/snout to fit the tank or cell filler neck.

Give us a couple of days to make sure we mean what we mean. Email traffic is moving on this.

Bildon and others:

Bill,

I have a close relationship to the WNYSCCA registrar, and her answer to your question is "yes". There will be an enduro at Mosport this year.

As you know, it will be part of the NYSRRC Enduro Series, and yes, it is one of the "coolest" tracks in the NorthEast, with some of the greatest motorsports enthusiasts as hosts (Canadians). It's too bad that we don't have more opportunity to visit it for SCCA competition events. The Canadians will welcome Yanks to race there, but there are no other SCCA events calendared there. Yes Virginia, there is BEER up there!! http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

If you or anyone else have any questions relating to the event, Mosport, traveling across the border, or cavity searches (rumored, but never verified), feel free to write directly to us at [email protected], and questions will be quickly answered.

Good racing. Bill

I have a question.... I can't find anywhere in the rules that they are requiring more than one driver. Is this correct? I'm registered for Pocono's enduro in two weeks and I don;t have a co driver. I have one to ask, but I was planning on doing it alone. Gottoa go, lots of bodywork to do! JOE
