Does anybody know of anybody running a Festiva in IT? Can they be competitive? I live in Arlington, Texas and I don't know anybody in SowDiv that's running one. I am currently in ASedan and I am looking to get out of that class and into IT (in a Ford of course), and actually race a car and not have to fix one all of the time. I thought the Festiva would make a neat little race car. If not, which Ford is the best for IT? What do ya'll think?

NLP, I think FORD are great in IT we run a heavy 1979 2.3l Pinto if I was going into It now I would look at what is doing well on your tracks. Mustangs to heavy late Pintos to Heavy (still need to shave 86 lbs off ours!!) http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/frown.gif I would go with a early pinto 71-74 or a early Capri. A Festiva or Fesita might be good. ITC and ITB seem to be where the fords do well Glenn

Nobody is running Ford's in IT down here. I was even considering a late 80's Escort GT. For the most part, all you see are Z's & RX7's and misc. junk.

I've been running a Festiva in ITD (Waterford thing) since 1996(?). Lot's of fun, dead reliable. Drop by the Waterfordhills.com bulletin Boards, I'm on there almost every day.

See / call Rex Burkhimer. He ran a Pinto in Tex Region in 98/99 and did real well. 3rd in points I think. 74 with a 2.0 L the way to go. Same power as 2.3 L and bigger brakes. Go to ford pinto.com to see lots of parts, cars, etc. Dick Elliott (16 pintos and counting)
