I have a 93 Escort that im hoping to put into IT next year, im waiting until Jan to get the GCR since i dont want to pay out for a book that will be out of date in 2 months. Do any of you guys remeber/have to hand any of the prep rules for the Escorts, and/or a recommendation for a class to run it in? The first thing that i think needs to be done it to remover all the excess internal parts, although i believe that the dash has to stay... Are strut and anti-roll bars allowed? what about upgraded suspention?

This seems a lot of stuff to ask and im sure a lot of it is in the GCR, but im running this on a budget barley big enough to keep the car on the road!! I do want to build the car myself though, since the experience may help me after i leave college.

Thanks guys

John--You need to check that GCR pronto as I am not sure whether a 93 Escort is classified in IT.

Don't start building anything until it is clear your car is classified.

Hmm.. i know the 91 is classified, and its identical to mine except for the rear spoiler (the factory changed from a spoiler molded out from the body to a raised sopiler for the 93 model year). The 91 is due to run in ITA. Can/How do i go about getting it classified if it isnt?

Thanks guys

It isn't classified in the GCR yet. But I am sure you can get by with it. I am prepping a '91 GT. If you need anything Email me at [email protected]. I know of a few other second gen GT's out there...we are working on some "tricks" for these cars. Also, check out www.escortracing.com (http://www.escortracing.com) and check the forums. Lots of things in there.
