I am looking for a little input. I am currently a VW guy but I am looking at the Ford Focus. Any insight into where this car may fit into IT in the future? Any opinions would be welcome.

It will follow the Neon (and others) into ITS, unless there is an SCCA rethink.

Not very competitive in SSC, but it is a very popular car with a lot of neat parts available here and in the UK. Should make a nice "improved" tourer.

It also has the good Ford wheel bolt pattern (4x 4.25) rather than the Mazda dimensions.

I agree with Joe, should be a ITS car. There has been one or two show up in the CenDiv running SSC and neither one has been very competetive (but the paint job is cool!). There are a bunch of "rice boy" shops and parts houses that have alot of good parts which should make it a great IT car. I was thinking about doing one myself but my mechanic keeps talking me out of it. Let me know if you have more interest because I'd like to find out more about them as well.

Thanks for the input. The Focus looks line a very interesting car. I have a small shop in PA we currently do a lot of CNC work and fabrication. I am looking to get into the Race fabrication, preparation and parts business and we might just start with the Focus. We may just build one and run it in hill climbs before it is eligible for IT. Again thanks for the input and hopefully I will have something to report in the future.
