They are out there! I beleive that they are properly classified as ITC, however.

Cheers.

Dave Knaack (sp??) races one in Central Division. He runs ITC in SCCA and ITD in Midwest Council. Does pretty well with it.

Is the 1.6l approved for Fiesta's an over-head cam or push-rod design?

I beleive it is the old "Kent" 4 cyl Ford that is a "pushrod" design.

It is not actually "approved"--it is the only motor that came in the US version of the car as imported between 1978 and 1980. Accordingly, it is all you can use in IT.

In the UK, the Fiesta had all versions (displacements) of the Kent, the CVH (Escort engine) and even the ZETEC in the last incarnations. There were also TURBO CVH versions scooting around.

Good car.

Is the 1.6l approved for this car an OHC or push-rod engine?

I think we are getting confused between the Fiesta and Festiva.

The Fiesta was a Euro built Kent 1.6 pushrod powered front wheel drive machine.

The Festiva was built I believe by Kia of Korea and I don't know what it has. Both are good looking cars IMHO.

I can finally read this thread, and you're right, I was thinking Fiesta when I read Festiva. Thanks for the info, and I'm sorry for the redundancies. For some reason I'm having trouble accessing the posts when they first go up. And it is a Fiesta I'm considering.

Does anyone know where i could grab road race suspension for a ford FESTIVA? Stiffen the car up a bit?

As indicated before, try Dave Knaack.

He drives a very well prepared Festiva, not a Fiesta. I'm afraid I don't have a phone nuumber but you might try the above listed e-mail.
