View Full Version : 280ZX Rear brake Question

The GCR states that 79-83 280ZX running ITS must use rear brake drums. If I'm not mistaken these cars all came with rear discs from 79-83. If this is the case does it mean I'd have to back-date my brakes to 280Z specs? Or am I missing something (quite possible ;-)

Thanks,
Scott

No, you're not missing anything. Last year's GCR specified 258mm or 269mm solid disc for the rear of the '79-'83 ZX.

I sent a letter to the CRB asking them to fix it, but so far all I've heard was the auto-answer. Maybe one of the ITCS members that hangs out here will see this and let us know if it got canned or if they plan on correcting it.

Another email to the CRB probably wouldn't hurt: [email protected]

Guess I spoke too soon. July FasTrack, page F155, R/H column, ITS items two and three.

"Nissan 280-ZX (79-83), p.25, correct the specs as follows: Brakes..."

I guess the system does work, at least sometimes.

Ty, Today I submitted my inquiry to CRB as you suggested. Guess now my question has been answered. Thanks for pointing this out.
