Do you guys think the bumper is strong enough for a tow hook? I would guess the metal is strong enough, but it's just bolted to the frame rail with two bolts on each side and the rearward bolt is cut out on the back so that it doesn't provide much support if the bumper is pulled forward. The stock tow hooks are welded to the frame rail so that makes me wonder if the bumper is stong enough. It would suck if I had to get pulled out of the gravel and the front of my car ripped off.

I was looking at the bumper since I could probably bend some metal and have the tow hook stick out the fascia opening pretty easily. I'd probably have to cut a slit in the fascia if I mounted the tow hook to the frame rail. I can't weld so I'm going to have to bolt on the tow hook to whatever I use.

Thanks.

For pulling out of gravel my vote would be no without modifications to the mounts and backing plates on the bolted on hooks.
