Is it legal to swap cams from the s13 Ka24de to the s14 Ka24de? with the s13 being naturally lighter and higher 248 duration cams, it seems as if the s14 would be no competition in comparison being it loses power at 5500 quickly. they are identical motors despite the cam difference so is it legal to swap or can it be made legal?

The short answer to your question is NO... The S13 and S14 are on different spec lines, therefore, the '91 KA24DE cams are only legal in the '91-'94...

And you are right, the earlier cars are considerably lighter and able to achieve the 2650lb spec weight. I'm not convinced yet that the '95-'98 actually can, though I've received one private e-mail claiming it can be done...

My '97 has legal cams, and pulls well to 6500... after that, it falls off RAPIDLY... Would be interesting to see dyno numbers on it to see exactly where it starts to lose power...

well im glad to see another s14 on here. would you mind posting any specs on yur car?
how did you get the car to make power to 6500 on stock cams? my car falls off at 5500 rapidly. any tips on tuning the s14 would be greatly apreciated also. thanks!
