I just picked up a low mileage Sentra SE R as my "driver" and wanted to see if anyone had some advice on mods to make it a fun street car. Joe

Good for you, Joe. I think you'll find they're every bit as fun as the GTis you're used to.

Nice choice Joe. They are an excellent car that is fun and forgiving to drive. Greg has given you the same places I would suggest to start looking for resources.

The SE-R Mailing List is no where near as active as it once was, but it's still very high quality and while you can scan the forums easier, I think you'll find the most of the knowledgeable folks still read the mailing list, even if they don't respond as much as they used to. Signal to noice is excellent.

What are your goals for it? Be honest. While there is not the breadth of selection that there is for the GTi, it's still a good one and you can get really carried away really easily.

I myself have a 91 SE-R (original owner) and am in the process of getting it on the road for the first time in 3 years. You're going to like this car.

For now just a driver. Use it as an autocross car. It's got only 75k on it, but the paint is totally shot. A few bumps and bruises, but all there. I'm going to change the fluids tomorrow and probably auto x it next weekend. I'm wondering if many people have removed the front bar on these cars. This is a popular set up on the VW's. I can't say that I've pushed the car that hard to understeer yet. I was driving it in the rain last night... I like the LSD! Fun little car. I got the thing real cheap, so even though I could sell it for a profit, I think I'll keep it to drive. keeps me away from the M3 itch I've been feeling. Although if a clean 2002 tii comes my way..... I look forward to some dry weather in this car. It'd be classed in ITS? JOE
