I've been thinking about what my next project would be, and started looking at Nissan's. I did some looking into the Sentrs's and found a wealth of info on them. I've been to Geo's site (if your out there)and many other SE-R sites.
I tried to find it but cannot. I want to know the different models of Sentra's B 13's I think? 91-94 Other than the SE-R. I know the SE-R's with there engine would run ITS. Is there a 91-94 model that has the smaller GA I think it is engine? If so, would it be in the ITB or ITA class? And what is eveyones opinion on this cars as racecars.
Also what about the 240SX compared to the SE-R for ITS?
OH! how expensive is it to build the Setra's?

Doug, below the SE-R, all B13 Sentras are classed in ITA. Any model is sufficient since they are all classed on the same line of the ITCS. This will allow you to use rear disc brakes since the GXE (same line of the ITCS) came with them with ABS.

The B13 in ITA is an interesting proposition. I don't think it would be quite competitive with the CRX and the 240SX, but you never know. There are those who think the B13 SE-R cannot compete in ITS, but I believe otherwise, however there are some critical components to have if you really are serious about being competitive.

The "problem" with the GA16DE is it's not as stout as the SR20DE. I don't think it mods as well as the SR20, however, you really need to speak with Ascona1973. That's Bob Legere. He's responsible for Tim Mather's <http://www.mathermotorsports.com/> B13 GA16 powered rally Sentra. IMHO Bob is a bloody genius.

I've had some thoughts of trying to build an ITA Sentra. I think it's a bit of an underdog, but the chassis, while pretty flexible (fixable with a good cage), it's also a very forgiving platform that is quite easy to drive quickly.

If you are thinking about the SE-R in ITS, I think it can be rather competitive. Like the rest of the cars in the class, I think it's an uphill battle against the E36 BMW, but that aside, I think a properly developed SE-R or NX2000 can be right there with the 240Z and the RX-7. But, there is one critical element.... Quaife. They are not available at the moment (and no promise for the future). The Quaife is pretty well accepted to be good for 1-2 seconds per lap with this car. The Nismo clutch LSD sounds promising, but I don't know of anyone who has tested it yet in racing.

If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help you with them.

FYI Geo, Tim and me have talked about building an ITA B13 Sentra as Tim's next project (after he's done crashing his 2nd Ford Escort...). As you said, we have a lot of experience with the car and engine, and know the strong and weak points. If we can hit the legal race weight, and get 125 or so hp from the engine legally, I know the car can be made to handle well.
