Hey All,

This is more of a Rules question, but I figured some of you might know more about this. I've been going through my fairly recently aquired 510 in an attempt to have it ready to run this spring...

Is the 'penultimate' RR cross member legal? Is anyone out there currently using this? If not, how are you adjusting RR alignment - just slotting the cross member? The way I look at it, it could be argued that the 'new' trailing arm mounts are strengthened/slotted pieces. The geometry isn't different from just slotting the cross member. If any of you don't know what I'm talking about, email me and I can get you the info.

Also, just as a curiosity, how many 510 drivers are on this forum and where do you race?

thanks

I race a 610. The cross member is not a problem. Most tech inspectors can't tell it from stock. Unless, the inspector is a Datsun expert you can get away with a lot on these little cars like running a L20B 2-liter motor in a 1973 chassis.

Sorry but you can only SLOT the sud-frame to change camber & toe-end. The penultimate alters the pickup points too a much greater degree.
On the '73 610 you have to use the L18 motor and on the '74 the L20B. Both now in ITB. If I had a 73 610 I'd try to get it reclassified to ITC. That's where it belongs based on Hp to weight. The L18 has a much broader torque range than the L16 or L20B.
just my 2 cents worth.

The L20b came with the car when I bought it. I have a L18 block that I am rebuilding. I would love to run ITC, I am trying to get the car reclassified (kind of tough with only four other guys running 610s in ITB that I know of).
