What rear end ratio should be in a 325i Automatic? 3.90 or 4.10?

(I suppose I could look at the tag but it's too hostile yet to crawl under a car. MAybe in a couple weeks...)

For that matter I am looking for a 4.10...

Hey Mel. What year? Also e-30 or e-36?

Whoops, it's an 85 E30. Sorry.

Also, I found out that the rear end in the proposed donor car is bad so it doesn't matter what ratio it is. (And the guy pulled the motor/trans and is sticking in a Ford 5.0. IS NOTHING SACRED?)

Long story short I need a 4.10, somewhere...

If the ring and pinion out of the donor car is a 4.10 and are not damaged, I may be interested in buying them from you.

Dave. If that 4:10 from the 318i fits your car it won't fit the 325. The 325 has the "big" diff. Look around for an automatic 325I or an M3, they should be 4:10

you can move the 4.10 ring and pinion from a small case 318 diff to a medium case 325 diff.
