Anyone got a picture of these plates? Who's received theirs so far?

I race two classes; ITS and production class that doesn't require a restrictor plate. How easy is it to remove the plate and replace it? Will I just pop-off a hose, or must I un-bolt the plate from the output side of the the throttle?

the plate is very easy to install and remove maybe 3 minutes tops.you really lose top end power.have fun.

yes that was with the plate.but we are still fine tuning,it should be better for march at moroso.still not 100% happy with the suspension tuning.

mike won the race because a car about to be lapped and not looking in his mirrors was surprised by mike passing him .so the guy spun in front of carlos he took evasive action to avoid hitting the guy .needless to say mike was gone by that time.but yes we got our a-s kicked.

But, Carlos ran a 2"33.9. That is a respectful lap that either you or I would be happy with. And, with the further suspension tuning that Steve mentioned, the car should get faster (low 33's or 32's maybe). So, from my point of view, the restrictor plate did not take the ability to win away from the E36. The suspension development will put that car right with the other fully developed cars. That is where a top notch car should run.

I realize that none of the E36 guys are happy about the restrictor plate. I'm sure you realize that everyone else in ITS is happy about the plates. Would you expect it to be any different? I don't.

carlos is willing to spend the money it takes to develop the car even further with the restrictor plate and the only way is with the suspension.i am not a bmw engine guru.i know a little about suspension so that where i develop.

I'm not much of a wrench. The plate arrived and looks great, but I haven't a clue of where it goes and it didn't come with any paperwork. At all.

Am I to bolt it on the intake side of the throttle body, or the manifold side? I don't think I'll be able to remove it or add it when the car is hot, between classes.

Maybe it'll actually be obvious when I have time to have a close look at the car.

its obvious. between manifold and tb. bmw gasket on one side and something like hylomar on the other to seal it. if you have q's, just call or email bimmerworld.

The intake should be easy to change between sessions. There shouldn't be anything to burn you around the intake.

why is the bimmerworld one $25.00 and the sunbelt one $125.00

Looks to me like the Bimmerworld piece is the restrictor, while the Sunbelt piece is the optional spacer.

Why is the spacer legal? Is it in front of the MAF? If not, isn't it illegal?

The restrictor plate rule specifically mentions the the spacer as optional in order to make room for the butterfly to open, thus making it legal.
