What kind of seats are you wide body drivers useing in a 79/85 RX-7? I need a 18" wide seat, so what are you useing that will clear everthing? Thanks, DICK.

a kirkey intermediate will fit fine. I had a 20" in mine for a while and I just had to notch the headrest on the drivers side. I still have the seat if anyone needs it.

What kind of cage did you use? Was the seat mounted to the floor? Thanks.

this car has an old bolt in autopower type cage with additions over the years. the main hoop goes to the floor, not the sill. where I had to notch the seat was where the bar runs along the roof. yes the seat was right on the floor but with block under the front to tip it back some. oh and factory seat mounts were taken out. the seat sat right behind the 1" square channel that runs from the rocker to the tunnel.
