Just out of curiousity, how long can one expect a well built, competitive 13B 2nd gen ITS motor to last?

I would imagine that with proper care, 5 years is not out of the question.

Our resident Central Florida RX7 hotshoe, Marc "Hollywood" Dana, is currently on year 6 and still running up front and winning. Am I right, 'wood?

I think that the key is to start with fresh rotors and housings if you want maximum power and reliability. It costs extra, but then how much does it cost to keep pulling the motor and getting cheap rebuilds?

I don't have a 13B but my 12A had 135K miles on it when it was converted to an IT car. It raced 8 years after that before the engine failed.

My 13B came right out of a wrecked automatic convertible with 75,000 miles. I race 4-6 times a year plus some autocrosing. Lasted 5 years so far. Fast enough for 1:03's at LRP.
Keep it cool, dual pass or triple pass radiator. Clean oilcooler. I know there is debate, but I use synthetic oil.
