Ist Gen Rear Rotors

Can anyone tell me a website that explains how to change the rear rotors on a 1st gen RX7 IT7. This is my first attempt changing then solo. I have a Chilton's guide but they explain changing rotors for drum brakes.

I got the rear rotor off. Any suggestions on where to buy rotors.

If you haven't already, sign up with Mazda Team Support Program through the http://www.mazdamotorsports.com web site. Once you're signed up they will sell you stock parts at a good prices, in addition to performance parts. You'll need to submit two sets of results (road races, autocrosses, adn driver's school all count).

Hammer, Scott is suggesting a place at $45 per rotor, Mazda Comp will be more than $45 per rotor.

I needed new front rotors this year for my 1st gen RX-7 & I paid $30 per (brembo pillar venting) at a local parts house. Mazda Comp charged $96 / $1?? something the last time I purchased fronts from then. Mazda Comp no longer has 1st gen front rotors.

I have raced 34 races plus approx 6 open practice days on the original rear rotors (using Hawk blue with a proportationing valve set as required/track so that I do not lock the rears) that came on the car. If I needed new rear rotors I would go to the local parts place & order some. Many people say the rear brakes don't do much of the braking so why pay the big bucks for rear rotors ?

I agree. Rear rotors last for multiple seasons, particularly if you "bias" a lot of rear brake out. Fronts are different, and I go thru several a season.

I use stock parts-store pads on the rear, Hawk Blues on the front.
