I've been running a bit hot in the height of summer, using a stock short rad. Any thoughts on a better rad? We can use anything that will fit in the stock space.
What's the scoop on 2 row vs 3 row?
aluminum vs stock?
I've also been looking at front dam to get more air into the rad, but evryone who tried them last year broke them one way or another.

I have found that for a 1st gen RX-7 the automatic transmission rad works great. It is a 3 row. I run in the south and it gets real hot. Temp never go above about 205 degrees. Usually between 190 and 200. Same for oil temp. I bought one with a "Life time" warrenty for just over $110 delivered to my door. It was from a company called Auto Radiator Outlet 1-800-252-0333. Ask for Michael at extension 293. I bought it a couple years ago so I don't know if Michael is still there of the company still exists. The model I got for my 79 was #701.

i started running hotter last year. tried better ducting not much help. on the sugestion of a friend bought a 3 core from napa $190 i think and 175 degrees
I got the 3"thick Howe racing alum rad then welded plates on the sides to mount in stock holes, $250 runs 190 in 100% temps.

There are distributors all over the country, heres their site, find a dealer near you, the first gen "core only" size is 18 1/2" W by 18" H, Overall dimentions with tanks is 22" Wide by 20" high which is probly what you would use to order one. it is a 2 row but each row is 1 1/4 wide each so the core ends up at almost 3" thick, I couldnt believe how well these work even under 100deg conditions.

No but im thinking I may for the EP car, mine has the inlet on top left and the outlet on the bottom right. Heres some pics of my Radiator.
