Ok... I'm wiring my 6 pole switch and have been through all of the archives, web searches, FSM etc. and I'm fairly sure I've got it figured out. The only thing I can't figure out is where the "Field" is on the 1st Gen alternator. I assume its the base of the "T" formed by the two connectors on the drivers side of the alt.

Is that right???

Just to double check (and please, no "just wire it with a two pole)... battery wire comes in to the switch (big lead off of the alternator goes directly to the battery). On the opposite pole is the starter wire, hot lead to the (aftermarket) fusebox and jumper wire to one of each of the 2 sets of small poles. The Normally Open (off when big switch is off) side gets the Field wire from the alternator and the jumper from the switched side of the big switch. The Normally Closed poles (on when big switch is off) have the jumper from the switched side of the big switch and a resistor thats grounded to burn off any leftover voltage.

Is that right?

It's not what you build...
it's how you build it
