View Full Version : New rx7 owner needs info

I just purchased an 1988 rx7, and have a few questions, and thought you guys might be able to help.
The car is set up for the ITS class.The motor starts fine and runs smooth at an idle of 1200 rpm. As soon as I come off idle and up to 3000 rpm it wants to surge up and down,after 3k rpm it seems to run smooth again ?? any ideas. Both coils seem to be firing ok.

With load does it surge?

I have similar issues, but under load I don't have issues (i.e. driving around)

Doesn't worry me, I never spend time below 3K anyway http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/wink.gif

A surging idle can sometimes be a Throttle Position Sensor needing adjustment.
