The driver said it started making different sounds around lap 10 at Road Atlanta during Sarrc. Quit pulling next lap & he limped 'till lap 14 & pulled in. I was watching & never saw it smoke any. The oil fill tube was blown out & gone. Only a qt low though. It sounded bad & was shaking when he pulled in the paddock.
Now, for an engine. He has 2 running junk cars. Should we snatch a motor from them or get 1 "built"$$$? '79 IT-7.
Both cars drive now. Do we drag race & pull the engine from the faster one?
How hard is it to freshen on up $$? I guess we need to pull an eng. & trans for a spare to take on a 3 race weekend. Anyhow, any tips,insights or opinions are welcome since we have not had to deal w/ this before.
